You Owe Skateboarding
Skateboarding does not exist by accident.
Every park you have ever skated.
Every ramp, ledge, rail, and slab of concrete.
Every session that gave you somewhere to be when you needed it.
None of it happened on its own.
Skateboarding survives because people show up and put the work in.
That is what BASA is about.
Why Volunteering Matters
The Butler Area Skatepark Association is a volunteer-run organization. There is no staff. There is no company behind the scenes.
Everything we do is made possible by people who care enough to give their time.
Volunteers help us:
Maintain and improve the skatepark
Organize events and fundraisers
Advocate for skateboarding in our community
Build something that lasts for the next generation
If skateboarding gave you confidence, community, or a place to belong, this is how you give something back.
Who Volunteering Is For
You do not need to be an expert. You do not need to skate every day. You do not need to commit your entire life.
Volunteering can look like:
Helping at events
Assisting with park cleanups or maintenance days
Supporting outreach, fundraising, or planning
Offering skills you already have, or just a willingness to help
Whether you have an hour a month or want to be more involved, there is a place for you here.
Build the Park. Build the Culture.
Skateboarding has always been community-built. BASA exists to protect that spirit and make sure it stays that way in Butler.
If this park has ever meant something to you, now is the time to step up.

Skateboarding does not owe us anything.
We owe skateboarding.
